Elaine Del Valle developed her One Woman
Show BROWNSVILLE BRED…Growing Up
Elaine at Wynn Handman Studios, where she

Handman--a LEGEND in the theater world
(founder of THE AMERICAN PLACE
THEATER & Literature to Life) in NYC.

Brownsville Bred is Elaine's true story, about
growing up in the ghettos of Brownsville
Brooklyn, New York. Her performances of
BROWNSVILLE BRED have made her the
WINNER of Teatro La Tea's 4th Annual "THE
ONE" Festival (April 2009 solo performance
festival) as well as winner of The Network's
"ONE-ACT" Festival (March 2009 One Act
Plays festival), where she swept awards in
every possible category including BEST
ACTRESS, BEST SHOW, & BEST SCRIPT.



Brownsville Bred performed weekly throughout November 2009 at New York City’s legendary NUYORICAN POETS CAFÉ. The five week run was an overwhelming success. Nuyorican’s Executive Director, Daniel Gallant, said “Brownsville Bred easily takes the title of highest-grossing and most successful Monday night weekly event series in the Nuyorican Poets Café 37 year history. As a result, Brownsville Bred was invited to remain and have a permanent home at the Nuyorican. Brownsville Bred continues to evolve at this historical stage.

Columbia University assigned students to critical essays on Brownsville Bred. The NY Daily News did an interview with Miss Del Valle and calling it “POWERFUL” also named it amongst its TOP PICKS for two consecutive weeks.
Urban Latino Radio has offered Elaine her own show and is featuring her as AN INSPIRING ARTIST in their SOULFRITO Arts Foundation Project. The Soulfrito Arts is a non-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the advancement and promotion of the Urban Latino culture in America today. They aim to motivate, inspire & empower the Urban Latino community and showcase it’s talents. Promoting multi-cultural unity and the advancement of its communities through the preservation of Latin music & arts education.

As a professional actress, Elaine is a proud member of the SAG (Screen Actors Guild), AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) and AEA (Actors Equity Association) unions.
Elaine has enjoyed creating and playing a multitude of characters on the Nickelodeon/CBS hit animated series DORA THE EXPLORER, creating voices in English and in Spanish since its inception in 2000. 2008 marked her first year working with the same creators on GO DIEGO GO.
Elaine has also worked in front of the camera on print, film and television. Her television appearances include THE SOPRANOS, and ONE LIFE TO LIVE. She has starred in such pilots as HEY PAISAN!, TRACES, and most recently in TITANS OF GETA directed by Torrence Colvin . Elaine has also appeared on such films as Donnie Brasco. Her most recent Feature Film work, on "A Sicilian Tale", premiered at the NY International Independent Film Festival on March 23, 2009, and later won for best CRIME SHORT. Elaine also has a lucrative commercial career, appearing in dozens of National and Hispanic-National campaigns.

She has had the distinct pleasure of working with such directors as Spike Lee, Leon Ichaso, Wynn Handman, Mary Geerlof, Ernest Dickerson, David Chase, Albert Watson, Dan Attias and Tony Kaye, amongst others.

Recent stage performances include THE LIFE, a play adapted in conjunction with CHOICES FOR CHANGE and the Manhattan Women's Project, and as part of THE 9 LOOSE SCREWS Improv Posse performing at New York City’s THE P.I.T. (People's Improv Theater).

Elaine began her own production company (Del Valle Productions, Inc.) which is responsible for the production of the 30m sitcom, NEERJA. She has also co-produced JACK & JILL, a short film starring Rosa Arredondo and James Patrick Moran, currently on the festival circuit, and she is in the pre-production of and writing several projects. Elaine also recently produced and directed a music video starring top ten R&B Artist, "Lea".

Elaine's first behind-the-scenes experience was as a producer on the Documentary short AUTISM THROUGH THE EYES OF SIBLINGS, on which she worked with award winning Director (Caan Young Director Award), Taryn Kosviner. Elaine and Taryn met throughout their internship at the New York Women In Film and Television (NYWIFT)- The Revlon Intern/Mentor Program.

Since taking on the Autism project, Elaine has remained deeply involved in the cause, and is responsible for writing award winning grants as well as founding and executing a major charitable cycling event. The MANSION RIDE FOR AUTISM (now in its 8th year) hosts over 1000 riders annually and has raised over $375,000. In June 2009 BICYCLING Magazine (the largest cycling publication in the country) named The Mansion Ride for Autism as one of the top 35 (in alphabetical order) BEST & MOST INTERESTING Charity Rides in the COUNTRY! Grants penned by Elaine for the Autism cause have awarded an excess of $1,000,000 to charity. She has received several awards and honors for her contributions to special needs children. Elaine also served as Secretary for the Engineers Charitable Foundation, and as a judge for the Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame Awards.

Elaine Del Valle been a guest on LLEGAMOS Radio and URBAN LATINO Radio. She has appeared in Page Six, The NY POST, The NY DAILY NEWS and Latina Magazine. She has been a contributing writer to BACKSTAGE magazine and the ROSS REPORTS in the ASK THE PROS section, and served the role of theater critic in the on-line magazine, BlackFilm.com. Her Interior designs have been featured in the magazines HOMES OF DISTINCTION, ELEMENTS, and DETAILS.
